A delightful festive spectacle

Longleat’s Festival of Light is a magical experience. With the stunning Elizabethan house adorned with festive decoration, outside the ‘Capability’ Brown-landscaped grounds come alive with a series of wondrous life-sized Chinese lanterns. Illuminated characters, animals, plants and buildings create a glowing winter wonderland of fantastic scenes.

    Longleat undergoes a transformation for the festive season, with spectacular lanterns which illuminate as darkness falls. The theme of the lantern display changes each year. As well as strolling amongst these amazing scenes, you can explore the ground floor rooms of Longleat House itself, which is beautifully decorated for Christmas. Despite the chill outside, Longleat’s safari drive-through remains open, and you can spot lions, tigers, zebras, and many other exotic creatures. A boat trip on the lake is another way view the beautiful and extensive grounds of this unique property.
